Meet the psychologist
About Carolina:
"Hi, I'm Carolina, a registered Educational Psychologist and currently training to become a registered neuropsychologist.
Beginning as a behaviour specialist and transitioning to a psychologist, I have collected more than 11 years of experience working with families and people with diverse needs.
I enjoy using my skills to support young people, parents, and the wider community, transforming challenging situations into cooperative spaces where achieving the best outcome for the person is prioritised".
Committed and Personable:
Beyond her professional roles, Carolina is known for her joyous personality and avid reading. Grounded in a robust training portfolio, she adopts a flexible approach to support her clients.
Training and knowledge:
Carolina holds a diverse range of certifications, including Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), MAPA training, Level 4 Standard Stepping Stones Triple P accreditation, Positive Approaches to Behaviour Support (PABS); Motivational Interviewing, Child Protection (Level 3),Trauma Informed Care, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Compassionate Focused CBT.
This extensive training enriches her ability to provide nuanced and effective support to individuals and groups.
She is also very familiar with the New Zealand curriculum for primary and tertiary education, Te Whāriki and PB4L.
